Last Night I Had The Strangest Dream

Last night I had the strangest dream
I never dreamt before,
I dreamt that every waking hour
Was a dream and nothing more.

I dreamt I tried to wake myself
But still I lay asleep,
And as I turned to face the sky
The clouds began to weep.

As each drop fell upon my face
There awoke a memory,
That took me to another place
Beyond eternity.

Then as I sat amongst the stars
And stared o’er all the past,
The truth that I had never known
Became so clear at last.

I laughed and sang and danced around
And made a solemn toast,
To life and love and happiness
And those we cherish most.

Last night I had the strangest dream
A dream so fresh and fair,
I dreamt I dwelt within my soul
And love was sleeping there.
